What sports outfit should I choose?

Let's face it, what we wear has a huge impact on our well-being. While it's easy to motivate yourself to wear a cool outfit when you go to work or go shopping, working out in the comfort of your home can be a different story. Incorrect footwear or sportswear can do more harm than good. Read today's post about what to work out in to make your workout completely safe and even more effective.

If your sports kit consists of an oversized T-shirt and cotton leggings, and training has already become your daily routine (bravo!), it's high time to look into professional sportswear. For physically active people, clothing becomes a tool necessary for effective exercise. After all, no ski jumper jumps in tracksuits, runners don't run in sandals, and footballers don't play in jeans, so why do we, training in the gym or at home, do it in ordinary, home clothes? It doesn't make sense! In addition, it has been proven that what we exercise in affects whether we "feel like it," so it's worth motivating yourself with a beautiful sports kit.

Let's start with a sports top. This is the absolute foundation of every workout. Exercising in an inappropriate top, a regular bra or (oh my!) without one can lead to serious consequences. A poor quality sports top does not protect against shocks, jumps and other intense movements that we perform during exercise. There are no muscles in the breasts. Instead, there are bands of connective tissue that stretch during jumping or running without a proper sports bra. They lose their firmness, become saggy and even irreversibly deform. We don't work hard on our belly or thighs to ruin the appearance of our bust in the meantime, right? When choosing a sports top, it is worth giving up chain stores in favor of good, sports brands. Here, we are guided by the principle of less is more. It is better to buy one decent sports bra than three bras from a chain store, which after a few washes will lose their functions and become completely useless.

What should the ideal sports bra be like?

- should hold breasts tightly to the body
- must be tight, but not too tight
- it must fit perfectly to the body and work with it
- the elastic under the bust must be strong and fit snugly to the body
- should have soft seams, ones that won't cause abrasions
- wide, comfortable straps
- made of soft but durable material suitable for sports.
- must remain in place when changing positions

The issue of the right sports bra has been explained, now it's time to discuss sports leggings. Here, things are much simpler, but there are still a few rules that should be followed when choosing these leggings.

What should the perfect sports leggings be like?

- they must fit perfectly to the body. They should act like a "second skin", meaning they don't rub or squeeze anywhere - you shouldn't feel like you're wearing them
- they must be made of appropriate materials that wick away moisture. Cotton leggings are completely useless. Firstly, they will make you way too hot, and secondly, they may be see-through.
- Exactly, they can't be transparent.
- they should have a wide, comfortable elastic waistband that prevents the leggings from slipping or moving
- choose the right size. Never buy tight leggings with the promise that you will lose weight quickly. The road to your dream figure in these leggings will be difficult and... extremely uncomfortable. What's more, leggings that are too small cause painful abrasions, press on nerves and tightly tighten the skin, which prevents it from breathing freely.

But what if you don't feel confident enough to work out in just a sports bra and leggings? Opt for a rashguard, a tight sports shirt made of sweat-wicking material.

The right sports outfit is a tool in the fight for a beautiful figure. And before that happens, it is worth approaching the subject responsibly, sensibly and choosing a set that will not only be safe, comfortable and practical, but also one in which we will look beautiful, and a quick look in the mirror will be pure motivation!
