Can you exercise during your period?

It's not easy for us, girls! A few days a month "taken out of life". Often spent in a bad mood, accompanied by a stomach ache, jelly beans and three types of chocolate. And what about exercise during menstruation? Should we exercise or devote these days to lounging and resting?

The answer is simple - exercise! And without excuses, because physical activity during your period is good for your body. Training will help you cope with most of the negative, periodic ailments.

The exercise will deal with tense abdominal muscles, thereby reducing cramps and lower abdominal pain. The same principle applies to the lower back, which tenses and causes discomfort during menstruation.

Besides, nothing releases anger and other negative emotions like a good workout!

It is worth remembering that a woman's body is really complicated and we are not always able to roll out the mat and start training, despite our best intentions. What are the contraindications?

First of all, a very bad mood. If the first days of your period are a real torture for you, you have fainting, fainting, or you are unable to move freely - give up. One day without training is not the end of the world!

The situation is similar when we have heavy bleeding. If you know that this is your nature and you have consulted the problem with a gynecologist - exercise, but avoid intensive training. Intervals, jumping jacks or abdominal exercises can intensify the bleeding even more.

Choose exercises that suit your well-being. If you don't feel your best, choose yoga, stretching, walking, running, or low-impact workouts. All of these activities will relax the body and soothe periodic cramps.

If you feel good, you can skip the cut and do your typical workout, and you will see that after the warm-up your body will be grateful for it.

You don't have to limit yourself in any way during your period. If you feel like doing cardio, do cardio. Strength training? No problem. Do whatever you feel like doing! After all, a period is not an illness, but a normal physiological process that we have to live with whether we like it or not.

How else can you relieve yourself these days?

Drink plenty of water. During your period, water accumulates in your body. That's why your scales show 1.5-3 kg more, your legs are swollen, or your belly is bigger. Drinking water will help you get rid of the water that has accumulated uninvited. Also, remember that salt and all salty products are not your ally.

Avoid foods that cause bloating. We say “see you in a few days” to beans and other legumes. Also, skip brown bread, large amounts of dairy, and some vegetables, such as broccoli.

Give yourself some slack! Two days without counting calories or lying in front of Netflix never hurt anyone, so relax! Take a bath, do a workout, and treat yourself special!
