Welcome to another #Beshaped post. On our blog you will find advice on nutrition, exercise, suggestions on choosing the right clothes and a handful of tips for typical female issues. In today's article I focus on our most important fuel - water.

Our body is almost 70% water, with the water content in a woman's body being a few percent lower than in men. The amount of water is also determined by the structure and composition of the body mass - if we have more fatty tissue, we will have less water. Since we have so much water, it is clear that it is responsible for many processes and providing too little of this fluid will have visible and noticeable effects.

What are the symptoms of drinking too little water?

  • dry mouth, nose, dry lips,
  • enlarged pores, dull complexion,
  • headache and dizziness,
  • somnolence,
  • concentration disorders,
  • darker urine color

What does drinking water do?

Water is responsible for a great number of processes, it supports the proper functioning of the digestive system, regulates body temperature, moisturizes the skin and mucous membranes, has a positive effect on the functioning of the brain, spine and eyes. Water is also necessary for the absorption of nutrients, vitamins and minerals.

Water and diet

Considering that water affects the proper functioning of the digestive system and the absorption of nutrients, ensuring the consumption of the right amount of this fluid is crucial to effectively building the results of the diet.
If drinking 2 liters of water a day (or more) is too much of a challenge for you, you can add ingredients to your diet that will provide your body with fluids. These include:
- vegetables and fruits
- fish and meat
Especially products such as:
- watermelon, strawberries, cucumbers, skim milk, fruit and vegetable juices

How Much Water Should You Drink Per Day? Check Out The Calculator!

  • There is no one hard and fast rule that dictates exactly how much water you should drink,
  • One of the assumptions is that the more calories we provide to the body, the more water we should drink during the day,
  • Another assumption is based on our body weight,

So how much water should we drink? The general rule is that for an adult woman, on average, we should drink about 2 liters of water per day.

If we assume the calorie method as the conversion factor: for every 1 kcal of calories we should drink 1 ml of water, i.e. with a daily intake of 1,800 calories we should drink 1.8 l of water.

If we use the body mass method as the conversion factor, then:
- in the case of a sedentary lifestyle, without physical exertion, 30 ml of water should be calculated for every kilogram of body weight;
- in the case of physical activity, a conversion rate of 40 ml of water per kilogram of body weight should be used.

How much water should you drink? Multiply the calories or body weight and you will get the amount of water you should drink.
