Regular exercise and mental health
This year, every day is (to put it mildly) special. Staying at home and isolating ourselves from loved ones, coworkers, and friends is not good for our well-being and mental health. We lose motivation, the desire to self-fulfill and work on our figure. While we can cope with the "classic autumn blues" without any major problems, when combined with the pandemic, increased loneliness, and often economic difficulties, things can get worse. Is this combination really insurmountable? How can we cope with the current situation? How can we find motivation to exercise when it's grey and dull outside? And why, especially now, is it worth taking care of your mental health?
Everything that surrounds us has a greater or lesser effect on us. The interior design of our home, our clothing, make-up, the weather outside, interpersonal relationships, work, sleep, relaxation, sports… We will focus on physical activity, because after all, sports are health! In addition to the aspects of physical health, sports affect our well-being in many ways. It allows us to get tired in a positive sense, relax, releases the hormone of happiness, allows us to “forget” about worries and intrusive thoughts, but also brings real, physical changes to the brain. Physical activity has a great effect on our nervous system and brain. It increases blood flow, develops brain cells and releases neurotransmitters responsible for improving mood, feeling euphoric and reducing pain. Regular exercise, through better oxygenation and increased blood flow, makes nerve cells stronger.
Release your emotions
Remember how you feel during a few days of illness spent in bed, or some unpleasant life situation. You are lethargic, stressed, tired, depressed. It is exactly the same with inactivity. All these factors can turn out to be activators of neurosis, depression or concentration disorders. In turn, regular training effectively eliminates the development of many emotional disorders. After all, it is not without reason that it is said that sport is health! Physical activity is also a great pleasure! Remember that you do not have to torture yourself with training that you do not enjoy at all. Choose a sport that will inspire and relax you, then it will increase your emotional stability, relieve negative emotions, improve your mood and well-being. The fact is that physically active people are less exposed to mood swings or even depression.
Take a deep breath
Enjoy outdoor activities. Instead of a home workout on a mat, go for a quick walk or run. Being outside and in touch with nature is very important for your mental health. Above all, they have a beneficial effect on stress. Just don't forget about social distancing! ;)
Time for a beauty nap!
Now it's time for something we all love, sleep! It's no secret that healthy sleep is essential for maintaining well-being, immunity and mental balance. Sport guarantees fatigue, and consequently, faster and deeper sleep, i.e. regeneration. We are rested, happier, full of optimism and ready for another day of crazy challenges! The right amount of sleep is also the most effective cosmetic in the world. It has a beneficial effect on blood flow in the skin, and consequently, improves its color. You look healthy and feel beautiful, win-win!
Do something for yourself
If you are overwhelmed by the grey outside and need to experience autumn pleasures, we recommend approaching training as a ritual. Relax, put on your favorite, comfortable sportswear , spread outyour yoga or exercise mat , light your favorite aromatic candles, turn on some atmospheric music, arrange this time however you like and spend it actively. Afterwards, take a long shower or a hot bath. Believe me, there is nothing more pleasant than devoting time and attention to your body and mind.
